In some cases, an independent photo match from a reputable photo-matching provider may provide evidence connecting an item to a particular game, event, production, appearance, or period of use.
The Realest does not perform photo matching itself. We may recommend or coordinate with an approved independent photo-matching provider. The provider conducts its own analysis and issues its own opinion. You may arrange an independent photo match through another provider and submit the resulting report for consideration.
The Realest evaluates the provider, methodology, report, and conclusions. Not all photo-matching services or reports meet the same standards. Submitting a report does not guarantee certification. The item must also meet all other applicable certification and marketplace acceptance criteria.
The owner is responsible for the photo-match provider’s fee (facilitated by The Realest, if preferred).
A successful photo match may strengthen the item's evidence file but does not automatically guarantee certification. The item must still satisfy The Realest's other certification standards and current marketplace acceptance criteria.
