If an item is sold or transferred through The Realest, the new transaction is guaranteed. If it is sold or transferred anywhere else, the chain of custody is broken and, for the customer's protection, we cannot stand behind a transaction we did not verify. Each guarantee applies only to the buyer and transaction for which it was issued and expires at the end of the guarantee period.
A future owner may submit the item to The Realest for validation under the certification standards, program terms, and marketplace acceptance criteria then in effect. Validation is not automatic, even for items previously Certified, as The Realest must physically validate the item and handle the sale before that new transaction can be covered.
