Bid sniping (also known as auction sniping) refers to the practice of someone placing a bid toward the very end of an auction (usually within the last few seconds), in order to try to win the auction without giving the existing top bidder a chance to counter-bid. This practice is often executed by bots (i.e. computer-driven programs), to ensure that the bid gets placed right on time toward the end of the auction.
At The Realest, in the spirit of fairness and giving everyone an equal chance to react to newly placed bids, all of our auctions go into an Extended Bidding phase at the end of each auction. This means that for each new bid, the auction is extended by 15 minutes. To read more about our bidding process, please click here to see the relevant help article.
